PRIMARY HOPPERS TMP SERIES

Features

The Poggi TMP primary hoppers are designed to handle bulk materials in the initial stages of production processes, where high capacity, structural strength, and operational continuity are required. In this context, the TMP Series industrial hoppers provide a reliable solution for heavy-duty applications and high-intensity production cycles. Designed to receive sand, gravel, aggregates, or materials from preliminary extraction or recovery operations, they represent the first feeding point of the most demanding systems. In many configurations, they operate as loading hoppers, receiving incoming material and distributing it in a controlled manner to downstream systems.

Thanks to their configuration dedicated to the primary stages of the process, TMP hoppers ensure a constant flow toward subsequent conveying or processing systems, even in environments characterized by high operational intensity such as mining, extraction, or recycling sectors. Each TMP primary hopper is designed to guarantee stable and continuous feeding to the next process stages. The structure is engineered to withstand heavy loads and to maintain stability and reliability over time, even with irregular materials or variable particle sizes.

Like all Poggi hoppers, the TMP series is manufactured in hot-dip galvanized or painted steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and long service life regardless of the application context. The available configurations allow easy integration into both existing systems and new production lines, adapting to specific customer requirements. The high storage capacity also makes TMP hoppers particularly suitable for aggregate storage, acting as an initial accumulation point in the most demanding processes.

TMP primary hoppers represent a key solution in construction, mining, extraction, precast, and recycling sectors, where operational continuity, robustness, and versatility in bulk material handling are essential.

Funzionamento e sicurezza

The TMP Series primary hoppers are designed to feed the initial stages of the production process with continuity and efficiency.
They consist of an upper storage hopper and a lower discharge system, configurable according to plant requirements. Discharge can take place through a direct-contact extractor belt, which keeps the material constantly engaged to ensure continuous flow, or through pneumatic discharge outlets positioned above a separate belt, a solution that enables controlled dosing through on-demand opening and closing.

Vibration systems can also be integrated into primary hoppers to facilitate the handling of cohesive, wet, or compacting materials.
This configuration ensures regular and adjustable distribution toward inline hoppers or subsequent process stages, maintaining operational continuity even with inert or large-sized granular materials.

INTERNAL LINING FOR REINFORCEMENT AND INSULATION

Different types of internal linings can be applied, selected according to the nature of the material to be stored.
These linings serve a dual purpose: they protect internal surfaces from wear, abrasion, or corrosion, while also facilitating material flow toward the outlet by reducing friction and buildup.
The correct selection helps optimize operational efficiency and extend the service life of the hopper.

VIBRATOR AND HAMMERS

To prevent the formation of bridges, arches, or buildup inside the hoppers, vibrators or knocker hammers can be installed, available in pneumatic or electric versions.
These devices ensure a regular material flow, improving discharge efficiency even with particularly wet, compact, or adhesive products.
Vibrators operate with continuous or intermittent action, while hammers deliver targeted impacts to remove localized buildup.
Both solutions can be customized according to the type of material, hopper geometry, and process requirements.

LOAD CELLS

Poggi hoppers can be integrated with high-precision load cells that enable real-time measurement of the weight of stored and handled material.
This system allows accurate control of discharged quantities, precise recipe management, and full batch traceability, improving process reliability and reducing waste.

EXTRACTOR BELT

The extractor belt of Poggi hoppers ensures a continuous and consistent flow of material toward the subsequent process stages.
Designed to operate in direct contact beneath the hopper, it provides constant extraction even with abrasive or large-sized materials.
The controlled speed allows the flow rate to be adjusted according to production requirements, improving plant efficiency and ensuring operational continuity.

Material flow management

Material extraction

DISCHARGE SYSTEM
The material is discharged by gravity through bottom openings designed to ensure a constant flow toward screw conveyors, belt conveyors, or other handling systems. The outlets can be equipped with manual or pneumatic valves, or with custom connections for integration into automated lines.

VIBRATION SYSTEMS
To ensure uniform discharge, even with wet materials or light aggregates, electric vibrators or selective vibration systems can be integrated. These devices reduce the risk of blockages, improve operational continuity, and accelerate complete hopper emptying.

Material dosing

VOLUMETRIC DOSING
Hoppers can be connected to timed dosing systems, particularly suitable for continuous production where flow consistency is more critical than absolute precision. The discharged volume is calculated based on time and the nominal capacity of the extraction system, offering a simple, cost-effective, and efficient solution for homogeneous materials and repetitive cycles.

ELECTRONIC DOSING WITH LOAD CELLS
Hoppers can be equipped with dosing systems based on load cells and extractor belts, enabling precise and continuous control of material flow. This configuration ensures dosing uniformity and consistent management of discharged quantities, guaranteeing reliability and regularity in the production process.

AUTOMATION AND SMART FUNCTIONS
The system can be programmed to automatically activate auxiliary devices, such as vibrators based on detected weight or predefined thresholds. This logic improves flow regularity and reduces plant downtime.

REMOTE MANAGEMENT AND TRACEABILITY
Hoppers can be equipped with digital interfaces for remote control, real-time monitoring of operational data, and automatic report generation. This configuration facilitates integration with automated systems and Industry 4.0 platforms, ensuring full operational visibility.

maintenance of materials

MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONAL ACCESS
TM and TMP Series hoppers are designed to ensure easy access to internal components, facilitating inspection, cleaning, and routine maintenance. The streamlined structure allows for quick interventions, reducing downtime and optimizing operational continuity.

COMPONENT MODULARITY
Wear components are easily replaceable thanks to the modular structure. This feature simplifies scheduled maintenance and helps extend the service life of the system while maintaining high performance over time.
