Maximum mobility, quick installation, operational efficiency
Poggi Horizontal Silos provide a practical solution for temporary storage needs in environments where flexibility, speed, and compactness are essential. Ideal for mobile construction sites, areas with limited access, or contexts where civil works are to be avoided, these systems can contain bulk materials such as cement, lime, fly ash, fertilizers, premixes, and granular products in general. In particular, the horizontal cement silo is an effective solution for handling binders and powdered materials on construction sites and concrete plants. Each Poggi horizontal silo is designed to ensure structural stability, ease of installation, and operational continuity even in temporary or highly mobile contexts.
The structure is hot-dip galvanized and engineered for robustness and long service life even under challenging operating conditions. Thanks to adjustable telescopic legs, the silos can be lifted independently, without the need for cranes or external platforms. Installation takes only a few hours on flat surfaces, without fixed foundations—a benefit that significantly reduces time, costs, and environmental impact.
The interior of the silo is designed to optimize material discharge and ensure a continuous flow to the extraction screw, providing precise and consistent dosing for greater operational efficiency.
For more complex applications, models with dual compartments featuring separate sections and dedicated access points are available, ideal for handling different materials simultaneously. On request, accessories and control systems can be integrated for even more customized and automated management. Poggi horizontal silos are also available with aesthetic customization options.

Operation and Safety
Poggi silos are equipped with a safety system designed to prevent overpressure during pneumatic loading. To start loading, the operator connects the hose to the silo by moving a handle: this action activates an indicator on the control panel. Only at this point can the butterfly valve be opened from the control panel, allowing material to enter. This procedure ensures that loading occurs only when the silo is properly ready, preventing overloads or unsafe operations.
To facilitate inspection and maintenance operations, access hatches are strategically positioned at the spiral joints. This configuration allows direct and quick monitoring of critical points in the extraction system, simplifying technical interventions and reducing plant downtime.
The silo is equipped with a two-way safety system to prevent overpressure or vacuum conditions.
In the event of a filter blockage, an electronic pressure sensor automatically stops loading by closing the butterfly valve.
If this first level of protection fails, a second mechanical system intervenes to rebalance the pressure inside the silo.
The silo is equipped with telescopic legs that ensure stability and adaptability in any operational context.
Height adjustment allows precise and quick positioning, reducing installation time.
DISCHARGE SYSTEM
Material extraction occurs by gravity through a conical lower hopper designed to facilitate discharge even with high-density or large-volume materials. The system can be configured with butterfly valves, pneumatic valves, and external screw conveyors, depending on the application and type of connected plant.
VIBRATION SYSTEMS
To ensure complete silo emptying even with difficult materials, electric vibrators or selective vibration systems can be installed, adjusted according to the type of contents. This reduces discharge times and prevents bridging or blockages.
FLUIDIZATION SYSTEMS
Fluidization plates or nozzles positioned at the bottom of the silo introduce compressed air to keep powdery or lightweight materials in motion. Particularly suitable for cement, hydrated lime, fly ash, and other light, powdery materials.
VOLUMETRIC DOSING
Material dosing is performed via screw conveyor, regulating the operating time according to the silo’s nominal flow rate. A reliable solution that ensures operational continuity and consistent delivery, particularly suitable for homogeneous materials and repetitive work cycles. In horizontal cement silo configurations, the system provides constant and controlled material delivery to the usage stages, improving operational precision in the plant.
ELECTRONIC DOSING WITH LOAD CELLS
For applications requiring precision, traceability, and certification of dosages, a deduction-based weighing system can be integrated. Load cells connected to an electronic terminal ensure reliable measurements, with cycle recording and recipe management in a controlled and verifiable manner.
REMOTE MANAGEMENT AND TRACEABILITY OPTIONS
On request, dosing systems can be integrated with digital interfaces for remote control, data visualization from external terminals, and automatic report generation. This allows advanced silo management even from a distance and full integration into automated plants or Industry 4.0 systems.
UPPER FILTER
Mounted directly on the silo roof, the upper filter is designed to capture and retain vented dust generated during pneumatic loading. The system operates continuously and automatically, without manual intervention, helping to keep the surrounding environment clean and enhancing operational area safety. Efficient separation of air and solid particles reduces the risk of atmospheric emissions and protects the integrity of the stored material, preventing waste and contamination. Depending on the type of material contained in the silo, different types of filters can be installed, optimized for the particle size or chemical nature of the dust being handled.
A complete range of accessories and options to customize each product. Measurement, filtration, safety, extraction, and control systems allow silo products to be adapted to specific operational requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency and continuous operation.
